The
new
year is just around the corner and the month of December
becomes not only a holiday month, but a time to reflect
on the past year.
For me, this has been a year filled with excitement, new
projects, being in the creative flow, television and radio
shows, workshops, etc. etc. And then there have been the
disappointments, the sadness, the dreams that didn't come
true but are still there.
Just
when things seem to not be going right, an opportunity fell
in my lap and I am being revived in a way that I never dreamt
of.

My
new opportunity involves leadership skills - all that I
know and aspire to be is in front of me. Will I be the Leader
I know I can be?
Absolutely!
But
my goal is not to just be a leader but to inspire others
to lead simply through example.
Can
I do that?
I
am reminded of my motto:
I
ACHIEVE
I
CAN!
I
once again feel the rush of excitement, the flurry of business,
and the thankfullness of this wonderful opportunity.
My
goal is to shine - not just for myself but for others....
to help pave the way for their opportunity to shine.

Exercise: Leadership
Please have a pad and pen close by so you
can record your thoughts or answers.
| It
is time to set the stage by putting on some soft music.
Take the phone off the hook, turn off your cell phone and
BE FULLY PRESENT for this exercise.
What
does Leadership mean to you?
There
are many types of leaders - the silent ones, the "loud"
ones, the writers, painters, mothers, fathers, children,
political, spiritual, etc. What type are you?
Now
use all your senses and think LEADER - LEADERSHIP
Once
you have decided what type of leader you want to be (this
can change at any time) and you have written it down simply
close your eyes and be that person.
How
does it feel?
What
does it smell like
What
do you hear like?
What
is the touch of Leadership?
What
does Leadership look like?
What
sense of Leadership does it seem like?

Be
with the senses of Leadership NOW! If you are questioning
your ability to be a leader - let go of that while you
are doing this exercise. Just be in the moment of true
Leadership. Take small steps - take charge of your leadership
skills NOW!
