A Magical Intention: Being Spontaneous

Hello my friends.

In August I spoke about the Power of Love and my dog Meadow. She is doing great! Back on track. I'm so grateful for the vet who quickly saw the need to take care of her. Every time I take my dog into the Vet's office, they shower her with love! Amazing place.

So, this month I want to talk about Being Spontaneous.

How many times have you wanted to spontaneously take action and just didn't do it. Let me tell you what I recently did. My poor husband had to put up with my spontaneous personality.

We went out to dinner at a lovely place on the Hudson River in NY. We were busily eating, throwing bread crumbs to the birds and enjoying the panoramic view of the Hudson River. It's so beautiful.

Everything was going just fine when, suddenly, I heard people at another table talking quite loudly with no concern about who was around. Now, normally this would really bug me - but it didn't.

There were four people at the table. An elderly couple and two young men. They were talking about ghosts. I would look over and hear bits and pieces of the conversation which naturally peeked my attention.

Once we finished our dinner and were waiting for our coffee, I said to my husband "I think I'm going to go over there and talk to them."

He knows - I'm not shy but I generally don't burst into someone else's conversation. Something just told me to do it.

I was being very spontaneous and taking a risk.

I carefully went over and invited myself to join in on the conversation. They were wonderful. They sensed I wasn't being obnoxious - just being me, so they welcomed my intrusion.

We talked quickly for about ten minutes. In that time I found out that the 82 woman had been an intuitive most of her life and was well aware of the "other side." Her husband was quiet but delightful. Her grandson was mesmerized by the events taking place and his friend had a huge smile on his face.

As I said, we talked and talked quickly, but I felt that I was with people I knew from another time period. They felt as if they knew me as well.

We had a great time and then I left. Before leaving, they asked for my phone number so they could stay touch. I was bouncing. I know that by being spontaneous, I met some amazing people - full of life, aware of the importance of being mindful, and just wanting to share their thoughts.

I left light hearted and happy for I knew that I was supposed to meet those people. They lifted my spirits and I hope I lifted theirs.

When was the last time you were spontaneous about anything?

BE FULLY PRESENT for this exercise. You can close your eyes or leave them open. Please turn off your cell phone and unplug your regular phone, turn on some soothing music and enjoy this exercise. No one is judging you. Be honest with yourself.

Think about the last time you were spontaneous.

What happened? Why did you feel the need to be spontaneous?

Were you glad you followed your feelings?

What happened?

How often are you spontaneous?

When were you not spontaneous and you realized that you missed out on something by not being?

Close your eyes and think about the feeling of being spontaneous.

Are you ready to be spontaneous more often?

Just imagine it...

Imagine that you are Being Spontaneous

Guest: Puja Thomson founder of Roots and Wings and Author of: After Shock: From Cancer Diagnosis to Healing

Puja Thomson has had a most interesting life. Recently her life moved her into illness as she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This shook her very "roots" as she's always been conscious of healthy living and eating. Part of her healing journey was to write a book that would help others through the process of both the medical world and the personal world. Her is book called After Shock: From Cancer Diagnosis to Healing. This is a step-by-step guide to help you navigate your way.

Puja also has a business that's called Roots & Wings. Listen to Puja's definition of Roots & Wings - it's very interesting.

For your pleasure, I have made the interview into two parts:
Part 1 - About her book "After Shock" and Part 2 - Roots & Wings.

Join us at her dining table as we talk about both subjects.
