Every month I try to think of a new intention that will resonate with my readers. Secretly, at the time, these intentions are resonating for me so I feel that whatever is resonating with me, perhaps it will resonate with you. I personally need to work on this new intention.
I hope you like the new intentions I have been developing over the last two years. As I develop them, I am revealing a part of what I too am going through AND I do the exercises along with you. So, we're partners for a better way to do things and, perhaps, a better life.
This month's intention is about Taking A Break. How many of us get caught up in the desire to accomplish so much in a short period of time? A new book, a new job, new products, promoting, promoting, promoting! I know I have been sort of "out of control" ever since I became the director of a wonderful women's organization in my area. I'm not only busy taking this organization to a new level and having fun at it, I am also handling my clients, developing new products, working on online classes, traveling a little, being present for my husband, walking my adorable dog, etc. Whew! That list alone makes me tired! And it's the short list.
So, we (my husband and I) took a mini-vacation in which I really didn't relax that much. I came back even more exhausted and realized that what I need is a break from EVERYTHING. I realized that nothing is going to fall apart because I decide to not answer the phone or emails for a day.
And what about you? Are you guilty of taking on so much that you feel exhausted? It's fun to be on a whirlwind, but you can only do that for so long and then something clicks inside of you. Something says "it's time to re-evaluate."Something says "it's time to re-evaluate."
Are you willing to
TAKE A BREAK from your life that may be a little out of control?

Intention
Exercise: Take A Break
Please have a pad and pen close by so you
can record your thoughts or answers.
It
is time to set the stage by putting on some soft music.
Take the phone off the hook, turn off your cell phone and
BE FULLY PRESENT for this exercise.
Breathe in through your nose. Breathe out through your mouth and say "ahhhhhhhhhh." Do this at least 3-5 times and see how you feel. Make as much noise as you want to but let the "ahhhhhhhhh" OUT!
Do you feel that your life is getting out of control? Why? Be honest with yourself. This is simply between you and you. It's your personal exercise.
Do you feel that you will fail someone if you don't accomplish whatever it is you're trying to accomplish? Why? Do you feel numb?
It's Time To Take A Break!
Do you feel guilty if you do? If so, try to take a mini-break. You may actually enjoy it. Close your eyes for a moment and see yourself having fun. Feel yourself having fun. Hear the laughter coming out from deep inside. Do you recognize the laughter that's within you? Has it been a while since you had a really good belly laugh?
Tell yourself - you deserve it!
SAY - I DESERVE A BREAK NOW!
Louder so I can hear you all the way to New York! Come on - just do it!
LOUDER AND LOUDER!
YES - I HEAR YOU!
If you can't say "I deserve a break now" loud and clear, then what is holding you back?
One of my favorite things to do is to just sit in the jacuzzi, light some candles, have a glass of wine and chill out.
I have allowed myself to have several days of simply not doing any real work and answering as few calls as possible. What are you allowing yourself to do during your BREAK TIME?
Once again shout:
I DESERVE A BREAK NOW!

THE "WE-CARE-BEAR" PROJECT Written by Mentor Orphan Roger Dean Kiser
I stopped dead in my tracks as I saw numerous police cars race into the mini mart parking lot and screech to a halt. Within seconds there were officers racing out of the darkness, their guns drawn. I stood holding a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread, afraid to move a muscle. The next thing I knew the police had tackled a young woman, who was on the payphone, and was wrestling her ground. Several officers were screaming at the top of their voices demanding that she spit out whatever it was that she had placed into her mouth. I moved against the brick wall as several officers came out of the store with a young man, who was handcuffed.
"Can I move?" I asked one of the policemen.
"Just stay right where you are for a few more minutes," he advised.
I looked at my son and shook my head.
"Look at that Dad, That's terrible," he said, pointing inside the store.
I turned around to see a baby, about two years old, being held by an officer. The child was totally terrified and screaming at the top of its lungs. I watched as its little face turned beet red and began to distort and change shape. It was a horrible, horrible sight to witness.
"Oh my God, Dad can't you do anything? That babies veins are popping out on the top of its head. It might have an old person stroke or something," said Roger Jr.
I handed him the bread and milk and I stepped off the curb.
"I asked you not to move," yelled the police officer, pointing at me.
I'm going to go to my truck and get something for that poor baby," I told him.
"You move and I will arrest you and take you to jail. Do you understand me, mister?"
I looked at my son and then over at the baby, still in a state of screaming terror.
I turned around and began walking toward my truck. I opened the door and pushed the driver's seat forward. I reached into the back seat and took out a small teddy bear which I had bought at Wal-Mart, earlier that day, for my granddaughter Madison.
The policeman stood there, saying not a word, as he watched me walk toward the officer holding the baby.
"Do you have any children?" I asked him.
"No, I don't," he replied.
"Well, I do and this might help," I said, as I held the teddy bear out to the officer.
The policeman reached out and took the bear and held it toward the child. The baby reached out and took the teddy and immediately buried its scared little face into the brown fur of the small animal.
"Maybe I should carry a few of these bears in my police car," said the officer, as he somewhat laughed.
I knew right then and there that this was going be my next project. Orphanages had refused to allow me to help the orphan children when I started the Orphan Foundation several years ago.
This is a project I cannot do by myself. I want to start here in Brunswick, Georgia and spread the project from there. I want every state, county and highway patrol police car, as well as every emergency medical unit, to carry several teddy bears in their trunk, specifically for children who have to suffer such unbelievable, unnecessary trauma.
Contact Roger for more information on his wonderful new project.
