Mid-Month Intention-to-Share
Remember: "I intend" is your heart's desire; "that I am" is telling your subconscious mind that you mean business.
Always use the word NOW somewhere in your intention. Act as if it is happening NOW.
How strange that HAPPINESS is being discussed on CNN for an entire week. They mentioned that HAPPINESS can be predicted through a high school graduation picture. Isn't that interesting? So how was your high school picture? Did you smile, grin a little or were you serious?
Where is the emotion of happiness found?
According Candice Pert, a research scientist and the author of Molecules of Emotion and Everything You Need to Know to Feel Go(o)d, the frontal cortex is the key to feeling your bliss. "Frontal cortex, the part of your brain that's key in understanding how reality is created. This structure is behind the forehead, and it's what makes us distinct from the apes. Our DNA is 99.4 percent the same as chimpanzees', our closest relatives, but chimps barely have a frontal cortex. That 0.6 percent difference must have a lot to do with frontal-cortex development and it's this part of the brain that makes us human." So what does the frontal cortex do? It is "where you plan for the future and also where you can choose to direct your attention." This is our pleasure center - this is where we choose to be happy or sad, angry or not angry, feel good or feel bad, etc.
Why do people suddenly become happy or unhappy? Is it environmental (family) or social? What is it? According research being done, those who meditate on a regular basis are happier than those who don't (this includes prayer and contemplation). Why? According to Dr. Pert - it has to do with what we are paying attention to. Meditators generally focus on a word that makes them feel good. Prayer works the same way. I personally think that prayer and meditation can raise your vibration which in turn causes you to "see" things differently.
The two major components to happiness are: paying attention and being grateful. Sure, financial success, health, or a good relationship can bring some happiness. But HAPPINESS starts within - it's not out there but inside.
Some people spend a great deal of time trying to figure out what will make them happy. Why not just spend that time with what already makes you happy. Build a reserve in your Happiness Bank Account (HBA) by gradual "deposits" of happy moments each and every day. Try it - you may be surprised about how quickly your HBA grows. And when you feel unhappy - simply draw from your Happiness Account. When it's low again, simply start noticing what makes you happy and start depositing again.

Intention
Exercise: HAPPINESS
Please have a pad and pen close by so you
can record your thoughts.
When you are ready to sit down and
journal your thoughts, then come back to this page. When
you are ready let's set the stage by putting on some soft
music, take the phone off the hook, turn OFF your cell
phone and BE FULLY PRESENT for this exercise.
Sit. Be still. Breathe in and out slowly as you begin to relax from the top of your head to the bottom of your toes. Breathe in the breath of life - breathe out with purpose. Just relax, relax more and more...
Imagine that you are opening a special Happiness Bank Account (HBA).
Imagine what your Happiness Bank would look like. It could be a piggie bank, a building or a box. Just use your imagination.
Each time you feel happy deposit that emotion into your Happiness Bank Account. Watch this account grow and grow and grow.
Should you become "down" you can quickly go to your Happiness Account and withdraw a little happiness to help you through whatever you are unhappy with.
Remember the more happy moments you deposit, the more you will be able to handle the "tough times" that your life presents and the happier you will be.
Keep a journal (ledger) on your deposits and see them grow and grow.
Feel the joy of knowing that you have a backup whenever you need a dose of happiness.
Close the door to your Happiness Bank knowing you can go there anytime you wish. Your account is now filling with Happiness.
